My name is Betty. I am a 57 year old single woman and grandmother living in rural upstate New York on a farm that was left to me by my father. I have a bunch of cows, some horses and a lot of chickens!

I was a branch manager at the local Citibank for 16 years when the banking crisis tumbled down on us. As Citibank scrambled to shore up their losses, myself and many of my long time co-workers lost our jobs. It was heart wrenching to witness many of my closest friends endure such life-changing events that we really had no control over.

Within just a few short months I had no money and nearly all my savings were gone. I had to do something...FAST!

This is such a small community that high-paying jobs are not that easy to find. I couldn't sell my house because the real estate market was in the dumps so I had no choice. I HAD to re-invent myself.

Looking back I would have to say that it wasn't such a bad thing. I make more money now than I ever did at the bank and I have the freedom of being self-employed. Geez! Back then I never thought that was possible. Sometimes things get so bad it's hard to stay positive. But I never gave up and it has paid off for me in a VERY big way.

For some reason I have always had an interest in writing. I like to tell stories and I have been told that I have a unique gift of inspiring people. That's a great thing, but that's not why I write. I write because I love doing it. I write about subjects that interest me. I write about subjects that I am passionate about and that is my advice to you. People will believe you because you are telling the truth about what you are writing and it is coming from your heart. The reader will sense your passion and knowledge and therefore be more inclined to trust you and ultimately buy your ebook.
